Junior golf coaching in downtown Tampa builds athletic swing mechanics and disciplined simulator habits.
Designed for young golfers aged 8 to 17. We teach genuine core rotation, neutral grip pressure, and bay safety protocols inside our climate-controlled facility at 803 North Tampa Street.
Fundamental mechanics over adult swing dogma
Young players have different flexibility, lever lengths, and motor learning patterns than adults.
Many adult golf instruction methods damage junior swings by forcing rigid positions that restrict natural hip turn and hand speed. At Pine Hyrst, our junior development curriculum focuses on athletic athleticism, balance, and clubhead speed generation from the ground up.
We use visual targets on the projection screen rather than confusing technical jargon. Instead of explaining face-to-path trigonometry, we gamify launch telemetry. Junior players see their ball flight curve, watch their smash factor improve from 1.25 to 1.40, and understand cause and effect immediately.
Grip, Stance & Rotational Freedom
We establish a neutral grip that matches the junior's hand size and forearm strength. We eliminate bent-over static postures and replace them with an athletic stance that allows full, balanced 90-degree shoulder turns without swaying off the ball.
Ball Striking & Turf Contact
Our nylon hitting mats have a 15-millimetre shock-absorbing closed-cell rubber backing. Juniors learn to strike down and compress the ball without fear of jarring wrist sting or joint pain common on hard outdoor mats.
Simulator Course Play & Strategy
The final 20 minutes transition onto virtual holes on world-class course models. Juniors learn shot selection, green management, recovery play, and scorekeeping in a low-pressure, fun indoor environment.
Simulator safety protocols for youth golfers
Indoor golf demands strict spatial boundaries. We teach facility respect from the first five minutes.
"When a 12-year-old sees their swing on dual cameras next to a real ball speed number, golf stops being a boring lecture from parents and becomes a skill they want to own."
Certified Head Coach Pine Hyrst — 803 North Tampa StreetStructure of a junior coaching hour
Sixty minutes divided into structured segments keeps attention sharp and excitement high.
Safety Walkthrough & Posture (Minutes 0–10)
Quick dynamic movement warmup off the mat. We verify grip, stance width, ball position, and review safety perimeter rules before hitting.
Skill Focus & Video Review (Minutes 10–30)
We isolate one technical goal—such as maintaining hip depth through impact. High-speed synchronized video confirms visual progress for the player.
Virtual Target Challenges (Minutes 30–45)
Players hit to simulated greens, floating targets, or closest-to-the-pin games that demand distance control and club adjustment.
Simulation Holes & Parent Debrief (Minutes 45–60)
We play 2 to 3 virtual holes on a championship course model. Coach outlines simple home practice drills for parents to review before the next visit.
Who this program is not for
Clear guidelines for parents ensure our coaching produces genuine progress and safety.
This program is designed for junior golfers who have an active interest in learning the sport and are at least 8 years old. We do not provide golf babysitting for children who do not wish to swing or who cannot respect indoor studio boundaries.
If your child is under age 8, our standard optical sensors and bay heights are not calibrated for their swing arc. We recommend waiting until their eighth birthday or contacting us for a short equipment trial.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to sit in the bay lounge armchairs during the session. However, we ask parents to refrain from shouting swing thoughts or overriding the coach's cues during the lesson hour. Clear instruction requires a single voice.

Want to train alongside your junior player? Book a two-player duo coaching session ($129) where parent and child share 60 minutes with the coach. Adults can also reserve our 60-minute adult lesson ($99–$129) or rent a championship course play bay ($69/hr) for family game rounds.
