Precision Launch Studio Tampa, FL Fitting Bay

Dual-radar spin diagnostics match shaft flex and lie angle to your real swing delivery.

Pine Hyrst fits golf clubs inside calibrated simulator bays at 803 North Tampa Street. We do not evaluate swings with hardened driving range spheres into unpredictable crosswinds. You test driver heads and premium shafts with real tour-grade urethane balls.

Equipment optimization based on hard numbers, not sales quotas.

Buying clubs off a retail rack based on your height or handicap is a gamble. Your attack angle, face closure rate, and swing tempo determine which head and shaft combination will actually keep the ball on the fairway.

60-minute driver and iron matrix fitting

Our comprehensive 60-minute fitting session runs $99 to $129 per session. We benchmark your existing clubs against our matrix of forged and cast iron heads, adjustable driver weights, and aftermarket graphite and steel shafts. The dual-radar launch monitor isolates carry distance, backspin RPM, club path, and impact Smash Factor (ball speed divided by club speed).

30-minute targeted wedge and lie angle tuning

The 30-minute targeted session costs $79. It is designed to calibrate wedge gapping, evaluate sole bounce on turf strike mats, or adjust lie angles on forged irons using digital gauges. If your irons leave heel-first marks on strike tape, your lie angle is too upright and pushes shots left.

Zero inventory pressure

Pine Hyrst does not sell boxed sets of mass-market clubs and does not push specific manufacturers to hit quarterly distributor bonuses. You receive an unvarnished technical specification sheet detailing your optimal shaft weight, flex frequency (CPM), loft, and lie angle. You can order through your preferred builder or have us source the custom build.

Shaft profiling and real urethane balls

Two shafts marked "Stiff" from different manufacturers can play with completely different bend profiles. One may have a soft tip section that produces a higher launch angle and extra spin, while another features an ultra-stiff tip designed to lower ball flight for high swing speeds.

During testing, every shot is struck with tour-grade urethane golf balls. Worn range balls with scuffed dimples can lose up to 1,200 RPM of spin, producing false launch data that ruins a custom fitting. In our bays, the ball behaves exactly as it will on the golf course.

Our four-step fitting diagnostic workflow.

We do not guess which club fits your hands. We follow a systematic testing protocol to eliminate variables.

Current bag benchmark and delivery baseline

You hit five to eight clean shots with your current club. The launch monitor logs baseline numbers: ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, dispersion ellipse, and club delivery path. This sets the benchmark any new setup must beat.

Head geometry and strike location mapping

We apply strike spray to the clubface to identify strike location trends. If you consistently strike high on the toe, adjusting head weighting, length, or lie angle can instantly reclaim lost ball speed and tighten offline dispersion.

Shaft weight, flex, and kick-point testing

We interchange modular shafts with varying weights (from 50g light graphite to 130g tour steel) and kick points. You feel how the shaft loads at transition, while the radar measures whether your spin rate settles into the optimal 2,200 to 2,600 RPM window for drivers.

Final spec delivery and performance verification

We put the winning head-shaft combination through a validation series of five shots against your baseline club. You see the comparative delta on screen: gained carry yards, tighter grouping, and improved smash factor.

Honest questions about club fitting.

Here is what a club fitting can and cannot do for your golf game.

Will a fitted driver fix a twenty-yard slice?

No equipment fixes a severe open-face over-the-top swing. If your club path is eight degrees outside-to-in, a new shaft will not transform that shot into a gentle draw. However, a proper fitting ensures your club is not exacerbating the fault with an overly stiff shaft or improper lie angle. Often, we recommend pairing a fitting session with our 60-minute PGA instruction ($99–$129).

Should a high-handicapper invest in a club fitting?

Yes, because higher-handicap golfers are the most penalized by ill-fitting equipment. A club that is too heavy or has too little loft makes launching the ball airborne twice as difficult. Getting into forgiving head weighting and the right shaft flex immediately widens your margin for error.

Am I required to buy clubs through Pine Hyrst?

Never. Our fitting fee covers our time, facility overhead, and diagnostic expertise. When your session ends, you own your build blueprint. You can purchase clubs through any vendor you choose.

Who this fitting service is not for

This session is not for golfers who expect instant miracles without making a repeatable swing. If you change your swing mechanics with every third ball, settling on precise shaft flex frequencies is premature.
